Topography / personal documents, tape / 10’ x 10’ x 2" (2016)
The wall-to-wall floor installation is made from tiny, hand-torn pieces of my personal documents such as tax records, receipts, and bills. From a distance, the scraps of paper secured with transparent tape seem flat, but upon closer inspection, hills and valleys become evident. Bits of paper are transformed into an undulating landscape of swirling patterns, a physical representation of my financial identity as flooring in my studio.

Connections / found cigarette butts, glue, wood / 27" x 40" x 4" (2016)
I noticed the camaraderie shared by diehard smokers taking smoke breaks outside, no matter the weather and despite the societal stigma. The resulting cigarettes butts strewn on pavements and gutters are physical representations of these interactions. Smokers leave smelly bits of their DNA all over the city.
