"Field of Dreams" (single channel video, 6:00 mins, 2017) This documentary tells the story of Mary Gregory, founder of the Retirement Home for Horses, where old, neglected or abused horses live out their days in spacious, tree-lined pastures. As she puts it “I am an old lady taking care of old horses”. A collaboration with Noah Avidan.
"Preparation" (single channel video, 5 mins, 2019) Strangers get together weekly to provide a service, one that others will provide for them one day.
"Imagining Daddy" (single channel video, 1:56 mins, 2019) HD found footage is edited to reinterpret a private space. Music in collaboration with kennethkirschner.com (022415)
"Tick Tock" (single channel video, 2:07 mins, 2016-ongoing) This piece explores the manufactured relationship of the “grip-and-grin” photo opp. Former President and Mrs. Carter are shown in a sequence of posed studio photographs with staffers dating back to the year 2000. It is an assembly line of photos – both for the Carters and the photographer. They seem stuck in time: as the staffers change, the Carters remain the same. The Carters once led the world, and still do important work, but here are relegated to cardboard cutouts, celebrity commodities for our consumption.
"Leslie" (single channel video, 15:38 mins, 2016) This experimental documentary explores the older woman’s body as site of performance of the gaze. It aims to upend the stereotypical depiction of the older woman as frail, weak, comical, or invisible through an abstracted depiction of a 60-something model who poses nude for drawing classes, and also serves as her husband’s muse for nude photo studies.
"Grind" (single channel video, 6:00 mins, 2017) Everyday banal urban scenes are surveilled, questioning the continuity of time and space, and exposing the perils of an insular reality.
"Listen" (single channel video, 3:00 mins, 2016) A woman discusses her feelings about aging, but the interview does not match her lips – we read beyond what she is saying.
"Friday" (single channel video, 2:30 mins, 2016) An elderly woman is filmed from seven different vantage points with varying quality cameras, from low resolution cell phone to 4k footage.
"Space" (single channel video, 4:00 mins, 2015) Busy urban streets and spaces are explored at ground level. The result is a meditation on what we reveal about ourselves through tiny details.
"Missed Connections" ( single channel video, 4:00 mins, 2016) Surveillance-style footage of older women is juxtaposed with voiceovers of young men reading from “Missed Connections” ads on craigslist. The ads detail the men’s missed opportunities to publicly approach young women they found attractive.
